Academic Tutoring Center

The Academic Tutoring Center provides support for students seeking assistance with coursework, writing, math, general study skills, and more. Simply put, our goal is to make sure you have the support you need to succeed.

What you need to know:

  • You can book your session online at .
  • Be sure to book at least 24 hours in advance of the desired day and time.
  • Tutoring sessions take place during the school week, between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm, the exact time slot depending on arrangement with your tutor.
  • Each session lasts one hour.
  • Sessions are one-to-one and usually in person. If, for some reason, you need to connect with your tutor online, you’ll have to get approval from Student Services via email. Once you do, just forward their email to your tutor and set up a meeting on Teams.
  • As to the venue, you and your tutor can decide where to meet. Typically, this is either room L308, Café des Taxis, or the student lounge, but a café elsewhere in Prague may serve if you and your tutor agree on it.
  • If you need help with academic writing specifically, be sure to read the assignment instructions before you show up—it’ll make things way easier during the session.
  • Also, make sure to email the paper in question to your tutor a minimum of 24 hours before your session so they have time to check it out.

If it’s more general help you’re after, we offer two types of sessions you might be interested in:

1) Explaining Academic Writing & How to Cite Sources

2) General Study Skills (e.g. reading skills, time management)

Just let your tutor know if you’re interested in one of the above when you book.
